This academic program, which has been developing for several years with great success by the public, looking for students to learn the tools used in international arbitration, with an emphasis on those types of disputes that are generated within the dynamics of Investment; those disputes arising from the investment protection treaties, as well as those from the execution of contracts related to such investments and who are in a commercial area.

Profile of the Student

  • Lawyers, graduates in law or other professions, arbitrates, officials and other legal professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge on the subject.

Objectives

  • Understand the scope of the arbitration agreement, its various forms and mechanisms of protection.
  • Know the main problem that occurs in international arbitration such as multiple parties and contracts, determining the applicable law, the rules of presentation of evidence, taking precautionary measures and enforcement of the award, among others.
  • Know the standards of impartiality and independence to be met by arbitrators.
  • Understand the dynamics of the main investment arbitration forum established by the CIACI.​​
  • Know the domestic legal framework for investment and the main terms and investment contracts.
  • Know the international legal framework for investment and the main treaties it has signed Peru on the matter.
  • Understand the main guarantees and obligations under the Investment treaties, as well as the types of claims being made about them.
